Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021 to 2022. As a member of the Democratic Party she has previously worked in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House deputy director of communications (2009–2011) as well as the spokesperson of the US Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a contributor to CNN's political coverage from 2017 until 2020. Psaki started her career in 2001 with the re-election campaigns for Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki was later appointed the deputy press secretary of John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki worked as the director of communications to Joseph Crowley in the U.S. and also as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was appointed the press secretary of President Obama's election campaign. [20] Psaki was appointed the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. Her appointment at the Department of State fueled speculation that she would replace White House Press Secretary Jay Carney when he left the White House,[21] but, on May 30th in 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In the year 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and stayed through the end of the Obama administration.
